The many examples of operating systems and software that now populate our lives (Siri, Google, chatbots, spambots, facial recognition, etc.), the science fiction stories and media reports, prefigure in our imagination the rich and complex myth of a form of autonomous, non-organic intelligence also known as "artificial intelligence.”

Strongly inspired by their research on the subject, conducted in August 2015 in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, Lauren Huret and Hunter Longe try to express in Deep Blue Dream our confused and enthusiastic relationship toward the machine, especially that of the "intelligent machine". In the form of a schizophrenic conference, visions emerge from this prolific dialogue between the orator and its avatars, the spectators and their objects, and other entities present in the room.

Deep Blue Dream had its first iteration at Théâtre de l'Usine, Geneva as part of the festival Dépendances thanks to Laurence Wagner. The performance was funded by Loterie Romande, the City of Geneva and Théâtre de l'Usine. The performance was produced by the association Courant Continu and co-produced by Théâtre de l'Usine.

Thank you to the amazingly generous and helpful teams at TU-Théâtre de l'Usine, Les Urbaines, Arsenic and to the support of association Courant Continu.
